Mousehole

Described as “The loveliest village in England” by Dylan Thomas, Mousehole is what you would picture if asked to imagine an idyllic Cornish fishing village.

Close to some of the best surf beaches and coves in Cornwall, Mousehole is centred around its small ancient working harbour with safe sandy beaches and full of fishing and pleasure boats.

Just a stone’s throw from the cottage including a convenience store, first-rate art galleries, the excellent Mousehole and No 1 delis, a traditional pub and two award-winning restaurants, The Old Coastguard and No 2 Fore Street, plus the lovely Rockpool Cafe.

Mousehole hosts a variety of vibrant festivals and community activities throughout the year. Highlights include the Christmas illuminations, Tom Bawcock’s Eve held on 23rd December each year celebrating the ending of the 16th Century famine by local resident Tom Bawcock (which is also the origin of Stargazy Pie) and a small maritime festival “Sea, Salt and Sails” every 2 years.

    At the front of the cottage, a charming vintage bench is the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee and watch Mousehole slowly wake up.

  • We provide bed linen and towels.

    Please note the towels provided are for indoor use only and you will need to bring your own towels for the beach.

  • There’s no private parking at the cottage, although you can quickly pull up directly outside for unloading bags.

    There are 3 carparks within a very short walk of the cottage. Or for free on the main road into Mousehole.

  • The cottage offers full fibre broadband

  • We regret there is no smoking, BBQ's or candles allowed within the property or anywhere on the premises due to the fire regulations.
